The NextD Remote app is connected to the NextD Player via Wi-Fi. Please click on the Speed Test icon on NextD home screen and make sure that it measures >5Mbps Internet speed. If the speed is less than 5Mbps, you may experience sluggish or slow pointer movement and unexpected disconnections for the following reasons:

1. The Wi-Fi environment could be congested with interference from neighboring Wi-Fi signals.

Solution: Simply reboot (power off then power on) your Wi-Fi router will force it to seek a clean channel to operate on and avoid the interference from your neighbors.

2. The Wi-Fi signal strength at the NextD Player could be too weak.

Solution: If you measure >5Mbps Internet speeds in other locations but measure lower speed at NextD Player's location, you may want to consider investing in a Wi-Fi extender to boost up the Wi-Fi signal strength around NextD. We have tested several Wi-Fi extenders and recommend the Netgear EX2700.

3. Busy background processes such as large downloads or large apps remaining active in the background on either the NextD Player or your smartphone may cause disruption to the Wi-Fi connection between NextD Remote and NextD Player. The first time the users login to Google Play, it automatically updates all the pre-installed apps, including Google Play Store itself. This will cause the NextD Player to be slow for a few minutes. If all the app updates are completed and you still experience the NextD Remote app responsiveness issue, please try the following solutions:

Solution 1: Restart the NextD Player and your smartphone. This should clean up most processes running in the background.

Solution 2: If you don't want to restart your NextD Player, try clearing up the apps in the background by pressing the RECENT button, then close all active apps. If you use Android phones, do the same on the phone. If you use iPhones, double click the HOME button then close off the apps running in the background.
